Lawmakers urge Biden administration to crack down on use of crypto by Hamas

A bipartisan group of lawmakers has voiced deep apprehension over latest stories in regards to the exploitation of cryptocurrencies by terrorist organizations, together with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), to finance their operations and sidestep U.S. sanctions.

In a joint letter despatched to prime U.S. officers, the lawmakers forcefully referred to as on the Biden administration to take immediate motion to confront this looming nationwide safety risk.

Addressed to Brian E. Nelson, undersecretary for terrorism and monetary intelligence on the U.S. Division of the Treasury, and Jake Sullivan, nationwide safety advisor to the White Home, the lawmakers underscored the urgency of the scenario.
