WazirX hacker launders $10 million through Tornado Cash

The hacker chargeable for stealing over $235 million from the Indian crypto alternate WazirX has transferred round $10 million by way of sanctioned Twister Money previously 24 hours, based on blockchain safety agency Cyvers.

In a Sept. 5 message to CryptoSlate, Cyvers reported that the hacker had begun shifting belongings the day gone by. Thus far, $10 million in Ethereum (ETH) has been laundered by way of Twister Money, together with deposits of about $2 million in ETH.

Cyvers additionally famous that the hacker moved roughly 5,000 ETH (valued at $12 million) to a brand new pockets tackle, “0x2…968.”

Market analysts noticed that the WazirX hacker’s laundering ways resemble these employed by the North Korea-backed Lazarus Group. This group is reportedly behind greater than $2 billion in crypto thefts and allegedly funds North Korean authorities actions.
