Supporting Decentralization with Beam Node Tokens

A key facet of Avalanche’s contribution is the minting of Beam Node Tokens, launched in December 2024. These tokens play an important position in supporting decentralization by enabling customers to run validator nodes. Validator nodes are essential to sustaining a safe and environment friendly blockchain, as they course of transactions and uphold the integrity of the community.

To function a validator node on the Beam Community, members should stake each ERC-721 Node Tokens and Beam’s native $BEAM tokens. This staking mannequin encourages broader participation while sustaining community stability. Validator rewards, drawn from transaction charges, protocol incentives, and grants, present extra incentives for contributors.

Avalanche’s resolution to run its personal validator nodes after the Horizon improve is full will additional improve the community’s resilience. By growing the variety of lively validators, the collaboration goals to distribute management and strengthen the Beam Community’s infrastructure.

The groundwork for these developments was laid by Avalanche’s Etna improve, which was authorized earlier this 12 months. Etna launched permissionless validation, enabling subnets to evolve into impartial Layer-1 blockchains with customizable consensus mechanisms and governance constructions.

The Horizon improve builds on these developments, transitioning the Beam Community to a permissionless proof-of-stake system. This improve is designed to enhance scalability, decentralization, and community resilience, making it extra accessible to validators and builders.

Avalanche’s help for these upgrades highlights a shared dedication to advancing blockchain know-how for gaming. Collectively, the 2 networks are laying the inspiration for a decentralized and scalable infrastructure tailor-made to the distinctive calls for of the gaming trade.
