Ben Whishaw to play photographer Peter Hujar in upcoming film

British stage and display screen actor Ben Whishaw has been tapped to play the late photographer Peter Hujar in a film directed by American auteur Ira Sachs, Deadline reported.

Hujar, who died of Aids-related issues in 1987, was a number one determine in Downtown Manhattan’s arts scene, and was finest identified for his tender, candid portraits of town’s cultural vanguard within the Sixties and 70s.
